Divine Mercy Shrine

At the North end of the Lower Church is the Divine Mercy Shrine and Columbarium.

“For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

The former pastor, Fr. Dac, suggested that the small shrine in the old church be created in the new building. This is the result.

Christ is Risen!

The Divine Mercy Image is an image of the Risen Lord. It is therefore fitting as the central image in the columbarium.

Prayer for Our Departed

The columbarium is not only a place to inter the ashes of our departed loved ones. It is also a place where we pray for their eternal rest in the Lord. The antique prayer desk was salvaged from an old church and restored.

Places of Peace

The columbarium offers two types of repository. Single niches with bronze plates and double niches with engraved marble plates. More information about the columbarium is available on the church website.

Jesus I Trust in You

The Divine Mercy Image is a basic call by the Risen Lord Jesus Christ to repent of our selfish, sinful ways and trust in him for salvation. This message is for all of humanity–not just Catholics!

Background

The message and devotion to Jesus as known The Divine Mercy is based on the writings of St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun who died in 1938. Following the instructions of her spiritual director, she wrote a diary recording the revelations she received about God’s mercy.
