Ash Wednesday begins the church’s solemn season of Lent–forty days of fasting which lead to the celebration of Holy Week and Easter.
Repent and Believe the Gospel
Each person’s head is marked with Blessed Ashes as the minister exhorts them to “Repent and Believe the gospel or reminds them, “You are dust and to dust you shall return.”
