Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is the beginning of the Holy Week–recalling Jesus Christ’s progress to the Cross of Calvary.

The Two Gospels

At OLR the first gospel, recounting Jesus’ procession on a donkey into Jerusalem, is read in the porch of the Lower Church. The crowd then processes up the walkway into the Upper Church where the second gospel, the Passion of Christ is read in dramatic form.

The First Gospel

It is always moving to see the crowd of Christ’s faithful gathered outside on a Spring morning to begin reliving the way of the cross.
